Ingredients:

  • 200 grams paneer, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) or oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tablespoons cashew nuts, soaked in warm water for 15 minutes
  • 1 tablespoon melon seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Shahi Paneer Masala powder (readily available spice blend)
  • ½ cup fresh cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. In a blender, grind the soaked cashew nuts, melon seeds (if using), and poppy seeds (if using) to a smooth paste. Add this paste to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
